2.2 million euro machine investment by Danobatgroup in Goimek manufacturing plant
Goimek, Danobatgroup’s manufacturing plant for mechanical machining, has recently been expanded with a state-of-the-art Soraluce portal milling machine with movable machine table PM 10000 for machining high-precision components.
In addition to the machine itself, the investment also included adjustments to the manufacturing facility to ensure the stability and precision of the machine, the purchase of tools and fixtures, and intensive training to create optimal machining processes.
“We already have several technology solutions from Soraluce, so we are very familiar with their expertise and advances in digitalization, which fit perfectly with our innovation strategy. We chose Soraluce again because they develop high-performance machines with cutting-edge technologies. This combination supports us on the path to operational excellence – a key factor for a manufacturing company like Goimek,” explains Aitor Alkorta.
In recent years, further major investments have been made, such as the purchase of a 16-meter multifunction floor type milling machine and a new 3D measuring machine from Zeiss, among others. The machinery enables the machining of workpieces up to a milling length of 22,000 mm as well as the grinding of components up to a length of 9,000 mm or cylindrical grinding up to 1,500 mm with a diameter of up to 450 mm.
The SORALUCE PM 10000 newly installed by Goimek is a portal milling machine with a maximum load capacity of the machine table of 40,000 kg. The machine has a longitudinal travel of 10,000 mm, a transverse travel of 5,000 mm and a vertical travel of 1,600 mm. The distance between the machine uprights is 4,210 mm and the height from the gantry to the machine table is 2,366 mm. The machine table measures 9,300 x 3,000 mm and is designed for extremely high accuracies.
The machine is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies: DAS+® Active Damping System, a Soraluce development to eliminate chatter during machining; Adaptive Control, which automatically adjusts defined cutting parameters to actual machining conditions; and Accura Heads technology, which compensates for deviation in the positioning caused by the head articulations. In addition, the Soraluce VSET measuring system is used, which is based on photogrammetry technologies and reduces times for measuring and alignment operations.
The machine is equipped with the latest digitalization solutions from Soraluce. These include the Smart HMI system and the latest version of the Heidenhain TCN 640 control, a smart and intuitive interface that allows the NC program to be run in the work area and other apps to be connected, offering numerous functions such as energy consumption monitoring.
